Morocco Records Over 56,000 New Businesses in First Half of 2025

Morocco continues to show strong entrepreneurial momentum, with 56,611 new businesses created in the first six months of 2025, according to the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC).

The majority of these businesses—over 65%—were established as single-member limited liability companies (SARL-AU), while 33.8% were standard limited liability companies (SARL), and a small fraction (0.2%) were joint-stock companies (SA).

In terms of sectoral distribution, commerce leads the way, accounting for 36.3% of all new businesses, followed by construction and real estate (19.6%), diverse services (17.1%), and transport (7.5%).

The industrial sector made up 7.2%, while hospitality (5.7%) and information and communication technologies (3%) also showed notable activity, signaling diversification in Morocco’s growing business landscape.

Regionally, Casablanca-Settat remains the economic powerhouse, attracting the highest number of new businesses (17,620), followed by Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (7,294) and Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (7,203).

Other active regions included Marrakech-Safi, Fès-Meknès, and Souss-Massa, underscoring the geographic spread of business creation across the country.
