Speaker of the House of Representatives, Habib El Malki, and speaker of the National Assembly of Vietnam, Vuong Dinh Hue, hailed Wednesday the quality of cooperation between the two countries.
El Malki and Vuong Dinh Hue expressed, during talks held by videoconference, their satisfaction with the development of the relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries and the two legislative institutions.
They stressed, in this regard, the importance of parliamentary diplomacy to raise bilateral relations towards more rapprochement and complementarity, said the House of Representatives in a statement.
The two sides also agreed to intensify the visits of parliamentary delegations, coordinate at the level of international parliamentary forums, support cooperation agreements between the two countries and jointly celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between them.
On this occasion, speaker of the National Assembly of Vietnam said that his country attaches great importance to its relations with the Kingdom of Morocco, welcoming the historic relationship between the two countries, according to the statement.
He also expressed his thanks and gratitude to the Moroccan people who participated alongside the Vietnamese people in their struggle for independence.
For his part, El Malki referred to the common struggle between the Moroccan and Vietnamese people for freedom, noting that the "Gate of the Maghreb", which was built by Moroccan soldiers in a village north of the capital Hanoi after their participation in the Vietnam War, testifies to the strength of historical and human ties between the two countries, the same source added.
He also noted that the two countries have great and multiple potentials that should be used to strengthen economic and trade relations, welcoming in particular the development that Vietnam knows in the industrial field and the leadership of Morocco in the areas of agriculture and renewable energy.
