Council of Moroccan Community Living Abroad (CCME) takes part, on February 8-9 in Brussels, in the Belgian-Moroccan Academic Forum, held on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the bilateral agreement of February 17, 1964 relating to the recruitment of Moroccan workforce in Belgium.
Coloniality, identities and cross-representations, the movement of elites and migrations, scientific cooperation, technological transfers and development are among the themes addressed during this meeting, organized by DIMOBEL consortium, which brings together the University of Liège, the Graduates Circle of Belgium (CLB), the Mohammed Premier University of Oujda and the ESCA Management School of Casablanca, CCME said in a press release.
CCME President, Driss El Yazami, hailed this initiative, marked by “the broad themes covered and the participation of young generations of Belgian-Moroccan researchers alongside pioneering researchers who have been working for decades on migration issues in Belgium”.
According to the organizers, the Forum, held at the Royal Museum of Art and History in Brussels, is an opportunity to highlight the situation 60 years after the signing of the bilateral labor agreement between Morocco and Belgium and to emphasize future challenges and, more particularly, the needs to strengthen cooperation between Belgium and Morocco.
