Morocco’s Tourism Revenues Hit MAD 54 Billion by Mid-2025

Morocco’s Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy announced that tourism revenues reached MAD 54 billion by the end of June 2025, marking a 9.6% increase compared to 2024. This translates to an additional MAD 4.7 billion.

In a statement, the ministry attributed this performance to a 19% increase in the number of tourist arrivals, underscoring Morocco’s growing appeal as a preferred international destination. The ministry noted that this growth is also contributing significantly to strengthening the country’s foreign exchange reserves and supporting the national economy.

The statement quoted Fatim-Zahra Ammor, Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy, as saying: “This momentum reinforces our ambition to position Morocco as a high value-added tourist destination. We are therefore focusing on investments in leisure tourism, which is a key factor in boosting tourist spending, extending stays, and encouraging repeat visits.”

She emphasized that the notable rise in both tourist numbers and foreign currency revenues is a direct result of the ongoing implementation of the 2023–2026 roadmap, which aims to strengthen air connectivity and enhance Morocco’s global tourism promotion.

The minister highlighted that these results are backed by several initiatives aimed at diversifying the tourism offering and maximizing positive economic impacts across Morocco’s regions. Among them is the GO SIYAHA program, which seeks to develop new and innovative tourism experiences throughout the country, alongside incubators specializing in fields such as Moroccan cuisine.

Other initiatives include entertainment-related e-gaming and digital services designed to foster creative ideas that cater to tourist needs, as well as a project bank containing over 900 ready-to-implement initiatives across all regions. These projects aim to capitalize on local assets and create tangible, marketable tourism offerings.
