President of the African Development Bank: Morocco is a Rising Power in Africa

The President of the African Development Bank, Akinwumi Adesina, praised the prominent position Morocco has attained on the African stage, affirming that under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, the Kingdom stands today as a “rising power” on the continent thanks to its pioneering achievements and modern strategic choices.

In a statement to the Moroccan News Agency (MAP), Adesina explained that Morocco is undergoing a profound transformational dynamic, reflected in its economic and social progress, as highlighted in the King's speech on the occasion of Throne Day. He pointed out that this advancement is based on a comprehensive development vision that integrates economic, social, and environmental dimensions, supported by effective governance and well-considered strategies.

The Bank’s President noted that, through this approach, Morocco has consolidated its position as one of the most advanced African countries. He added that the Kingdom's new development model has enabled the diversification of its economy, a controlled openness to global markets, and strong integration into regional and international value chains.

Adesina also highlighted the significant industrial boom taking place in Morocco, particularly in the automotive, aerospace, and renewable energy sectors, in addition to major investments in infrastructure, all of which enhance the Kingdom’s attractiveness to international investors.

He concluded by stressing that the partnership between the African Development Bank and Morocco continues to strengthen, thanks to the large-scale development projects led by King Mohammed VI, which serve as a model of multidimensional progress in Africa.
