South Korean Eco-Friendly Straw Manufacturer Sets Up Factory in Morocco’s LOGINTEK Industrial Zone

A new industrial project backed by South Korean investment is taking shape in Morocco, with SEOUL Factory, a leading South Korean producer of eco-friendly straws, preparing to launch its production activities within the LOGINTEK industrial and logistics zone in Settat, in the Casablanca–Settat region.

The project reflects growing confidence among foreign investors in Morocco’s industrial potential, Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Investment, Convergence and Evaluation of Public Policies, Karim Zidane, said on Thursday during a site visit to LOGINTEK to assess the progress of construction works.

Zidane noted that the decision to establish the factory in Morocco followed a partnership agreement signed during an official investment roadshow in South Korea in November 2024, aimed at showcasing Morocco’s investment climate and competitive advantages.

He highlighted that Morocco’s political stability, modern infrastructure, and availability of skilled human capital were key factors behind the South Korean company’s choice, adding that the project aligns with the Kingdom’s strategy to attract high-value, environmentally responsible industries.

Once operational, the factory is expected to create around 300 direct jobs, in addition to several hundred indirect skilled positions. The minister added that Moroccan engineers have already received specialized training abroad in preparation for the launch of production, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and integration into global industrial value chains.

The factory will be located within LOGINTEK, Morocco’s first fully integrated private industrial and logistics zone, which combines manufacturing units, logistics platforms, administrative services, and innovation-oriented infrastructure within a single ecosystem.

Strategically positioned in the heart of the Casablanca–Settat region, LOGINTEK is situated 30 kilometers from Mohammed V International Airport and 50 kilometers from the Port of Casablanca, offering direct access to national and international markets through road, rail, and highway networks.

In the long term, LOGINTEK aims to generate between 12,000 and 15,000 direct jobs and already hosts industrial operators from several countries, consolidating its role as a major hub for industrial growth and economic development in the Casablanca–Settat region.
