The borders between Spain and Morocco will keep closed next April due to the pandemic conditions in both countries.
According to Spanish media, the ministry of interior announced this morning the extension of the border closing decision for an additional month until April 30, 2021, because of the Coronavirus.
This decision means directly that the normal transition movement between Morocco and Spain will continue to stop, unless in some exceptional cases, such as the evacuation operation that are intended to move the nationals.
The borders between Morocco and Spain have been closed since March 2020, when the two countries decided to close the border in order to stop Coronavirus from spreading.
Spain revises the conditions of the pandemic in the neighboring countries at the end of every month, and based on this revision; it takes the decision to open borders or keep them closed.
However, even if Spain decided to open its borders with Morocco, it still needs the decision of Morocco to take the same step in order to return to the normal transition movements between the two countries.
