Spanish Media Hails Morocco’s ‘Leadership’, ‘Sincere Commitment’ to Africa

The Spanish daily La Razon on Saturday highlighted Morocco's "leadership" and "sincere commitment" to the development of Africa.

"HM King Mohammed VI’s reign testifies to the unequivocal African vocation of Morocco, which actively promotes pan-Africanism and a sincere commitment to the development of the continent,” the Spanish media writes in an article, published on the occasion of the celebration of Africa Day, under the title "the leadership of the Kingdom of Morocco in Africa".

Morocco has intensified its diplomatic, economic, cultural and commercial relations with African countries, based on the principles of justice, solidarity and good neighborliness, the newspaper notes.

The Kingdom is the second largest investor in Africa, with the prospect of becoming the first, it says, emphasizing the substantial support provided to African countries during the Covid-19 pandemic and the enrolment of African students in Moroccan universities.

Thanks to a privileged geographical position, as a crossroads of maritime trade routes between Europe, Africa and America, Morocco makes a major contribution to the economic development of the continent, it notes, stressing the Kingdom's contribution to peace and security in Africa and Europe, thanks to its economic leadership and its religious model, enshrining the values of an Islam of moderation and the middle ground.

For the author of the article, Morocco's promotion of South-South cooperation projects, based on the principle of multilateralism, deserves to be welcomed, citing, among others, the "Farm&Fortune Hubs" program, which transforms small farms into productive agricultural companies.
