A small fishing boat, with 14 fishermen on board, was destroyed in the early hours of Thursday by giant waves as it left the port of Tarfaya (South of Morocco), according to first data, local authorities of the province of Tarfaya said.
Once informed, the competent services intervened, underlined the same source, specifying that three people were rescued and transferred immediately to the emergency room of the Tarfaya Health Center, while the bodies of 4 others were recovered. The search operation is still on to find the other people who were aboard the boat, the same source noted.
An investigation was opened by the competent authorities to determine the circumstances of this incident.
