Marrakech Tops Morocco’s Tourism with 5 Million Overnight Stays in First Half of 2025

The Tourism Observatory reported that the number of overnight stays recorded in classified tourist accommodation establishments in Marrakech increased by 6 percent by the end of last June, reaching 5,058,516 overnight stays compared to 4,762,507 during the same period last year.

In its statistics on tourism in Morocco for the first six months of 2025, the Observatory highlighted that the occupancy rate in these establishments in the Red City reached 71 percent, compared to 68 percent during the same period in 2024.

During June 2025, classified tourist accommodation establishments in Marrakech recorded a slight increase of 1 percent in overnight stays, totaling 784,073 with an occupancy rate of 66 percent, compared to 777,515 overnight stays and an occupancy rate of 66 percent in June 2024.

On another note, Marrakech managed to maintain its position as the most visited tourist destination nationwide, followed by Agadir (3.1 million overnight stays) and Casablanca (1.19 million overnight stays).

At the national level, the number of overnight stays in classified tourist accommodation establishments increased by 13 percent in the first half of 2025 compared to the same period last year.

The Observatory pointed out that this growth is attributed to a 5 percent increase in domestic tourism and a 16 percent increase in international tourism.
