Morocco is increasingly becoming a destination that travelers plan for well in advance, said Fatim-Zahra Ammor, Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, and the Social and Solidarity Economy, on Tuesday in Rabat.
“Today, 33% of tourists book their stay between two weeks and one month before departure, compared to 21% in 2019, confirming Morocco’s position as a destination that is carefully planned,” Minister Ammor said during a meeting with members of the National Tourism Confederation.
In this regard, the minister noted that the average length of stay is now around seven days, a figure consistent with a nearby destination, highlighting the improvement in visitor loyalty, which has risen from 34% in 2019 to 38% currently.
She also recalled that tourism revenues increased by 13% to reach 67 billion dirhams (MAD) by the end of July 2025, reflecting an upward move in the sector’s quality.
Regarding domestic tourism, an 8% increase was recorded by the end of July, while outbound travel by Moroccans decreased by 25% compared to the previous year, indicating a growing preference among Moroccans to spend their holidays in their own country, Minister Ammor noted.
