Morocco Welcomes Record 15 Million Tourists by September 2025, Up 14% Year-on-Year

Morocco’s tourism sector continues its remarkable recovery, with 15 million visitors recorded by the end of September 2025, representing a 14% increase compared to the same period last year, according to data released by the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy.

The ministry said in a statement that 1.4 million tourists arrived in September alone, a 9% year-on-year increase, confirming the steady growth of Morocco’s tourism industry throughout the year.

This new milestone underscores the strong upward trajectory of the sector since the beginning of 2025, fueled by expanded air connectivity, targeted international promotion campaigns, and continuous improvements to the visitor experience, the statement added.

“These 15 million arrivals reflect a strategy that is delivering tangible results,” said Fatim-Zahra Ammor, Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy. She emphasized that the government remains determined to sustain and accelerate this positive momentum, with the goal of making tourism a major economic driver for all regions of the Kingdom.

The record performance aligns with Morocco’s broader tourism strategy, which aims to position the country among the world’s top travel destinations ahead of major upcoming global events, including the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which Morocco will co-host.
