Report: Morocco Handled Nearly 8,000 International Security Requests in 2025

Morocco processed nearly 8,000 files and information requests within the framework of international security cooperation during 2025, with Spain ranking first among beneficiary countries, according to the annual report on the achievements of national security for the year.

The report, issued on Wednesday by the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) and obtained by Assahifa, states that these figures reflect the work of the International Security Cooperation Division, which handled thousands of requests submitted by foreign security partners under bilateral and multilateral cooperation mechanisms.

According to the report’s digital indicators, cases related to drug trafficking accounted for 7% of the processed files, while irregular migration-related cases represented 20%. Requests for information made up the largest share, at 36% of the total.

In terms of international partners, security cooperation with neighboring Spain ranked first, accounting for 37% of total cooperation files. France followed with 28%, while cooperation with Germany reached 11%, and with the United States stood at 10%, alongside other shares distributed among additional partner countries.

At the operational level, the report noted that the National Central Bureau (NCB Interpol Rabat) processed a total of 7,103 information requests in 2025 within the framework of international police cooperation.

The bureau also facilitated cooperation in 2,307 cases related to international trafficking in stolen vehicles, resulting in the seizure of 395 vehicles reported as stolen in Interpol’s databases.

Regarding international judicial cooperation, the report indicated that the NCB in Rabat monitored the execution of 120 international letters rogatory issued by foreign judicial authorities during the year.

In the same context, 127 international arrest warrants were circulated, enabling Moroccan judicial authorities to arrest 144 individuals wanted at the international level.

The report further stated that 3,173 national wanted notices were circulated in response to requests from foreign security services, in addition to Interpol red notices.

At the Arab level, 381 search notices issued by contact units in Arab countries were published as part of regional security cooperation and information exchange.

The report also referred to the publication of 858 notices to suspend the circulation of international searches, alongside 1,016 notices to stop searches broadcast at the Arab level.

With regard to extradition procedures, 2025 saw the execution of measures to recover 36 individuals arrested abroad on the basis of international arrest warrants issued by Moroccan judicial authorities.

Conversely, the DGSN report added that 57 foreign nationals were arrested on Moroccan territory in execution of international warrants issued against them by foreign judicial authorities.

During the same year, procedures were also completed to extradite 35 foreign nationals to their home countries, following the issuance of extradition decrees in accordance with the legally applicable procedures.
