Morocco’s national football team qualified for the semifinals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after a dominant 2–0 victory over Cameroon on Friday at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, continuing their strong run in the tournament on home soil.
The Atlas Lions took the lead in the 26th minute through Brahim Díaz, who capitalized on Morocco’s early pressure, before Ismael Saibari doubled the advantage in the 74th minute to secure a deserved win and send the home crowd into celebration.
With this victory, Morocco moved one step closer to the final and will now face the winner of the quarterfinal clash between Nigeria and Algeria, scheduled for Saturday at 5 p.m. local time, in what is expected to be a decisive test on the road to the title.
In the other quarterfinal played on Friday, Senegal booked their place in the semifinals after defeating Mali 1–0 at the Grand Stadium of Tangier, with Iliman Ndiaye scoring the only goal of the match in the 28th minute. Pape Thiaw’s side will meet the winner of the Egypt–Côte d’Ivoire encounter in the last four.
