Morocco Vows to Promote Peace, Brotherhood at Doha Conference

Morocco, under the Leadership of King Mohammed VI, endeavors to promote brotherhood and peace between nations and peoples, as well as the values of coexistence between religions, said, on Tuesday in Doha, Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration and the Family, Aawatif Hayar.

Speaking at the 15th Doha Conference on Interfaith Dialogue, held under the theme “Integration of families, faith, values, and education”, Hayar emphasized the importance of shared religious and universal values as a catalyst for rebuilding the human being as the driving force behind a life free of war and greed, extremism and hatred.

The Minister underlined the importance attached by the King in His various speeches to the family as an essential nucleus within society, reviewing several provisions of the Constitution guaranteeing the legal, social and economic protection of the family.

Hayar also recalled the launch by Morocco, under the Leadership of the King, of several major projects in the field of inclusive socio-economic development, including the National Initiative for Human Development in 2005, which has benefited millions of families.

She also highlighted the social protection projects, which provide social coverage for all Moroccans and direct financial support for needy families, as well as the projects to revise the Family Code.
