Partnership Agreement Between Morocco and Trelleborg to Develop Aerospace Industry in the Country

A significant partnership agreement was signed yesterday between the integrated industrial platform Midparc in the Nouaceur area of Morocco and the Swedish giant Trelleborg, as part of the Kingdom of Morocco's efforts to strengthen its capabilities in the aerospace industry.

The agreement, which was signed in the presence of Minister of Industry and Trade Riyad Mezzour, includes the establishment of a new Trelleborg industrial unit within Midparc, specializing in the manufacture of sealing systems for the aerospace sector.

The new project will be located on an area of 7,800 square meters, including 5,100 square meters of building space. The project will require an investment of 11 million euros and is expected to create between 150 and 200 direct jobs.

Minister of Industry and Trade, Riyad Mezzour, stressed the strategic importance of this agreement, considering it a significant step towards developing the aerospace industry ecosystem in Morocco.

The Minister pointed out that this project represents the first Swedish investment in the field of manufacturing sealing systems for aviation in Morocco, which will contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of the national industry and achieving significant local added value.

For his part, the President of the Midparc area, Hamid Benbrahim Andaloussi, expressed his pleasure in welcoming the Trelleborg group to Midparc. He explained that Trelleborg offers "distinguished technologies" in the field of polymer technologies, aimed at protecting aircraft equipment, engine equipment, and electronic equipment, ensuring aircraft safety and achieving greater sustainability.

Benbrahim believes that this investment represents further confirmation of the growing importance of the national aviation base, which has now become an indispensable player on the doorstep of Europe.

President of the Aerospace Trelleborg business unit, Gordon Rober, expressed his satisfaction at contributing to the development of Morocco's aviation infrastructure. He stressed that this new plant will strengthen Trelleborg's position as a major supplier to leading aircraft manufacturers such as Boeing and Airbus, while expressing Trelleborg's commitment to supporting its partner Safran, which has already invested heavily in the region.

Founded in Sweden in 1905, the Trelleborg Group specializes in providing engineered polymer solutions. The group has 30 research and development centers and employs over 15,600 people in over 100 locations in 40 different countries.
